Pink and husband Carey Hart are celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary, and according to the “What About Us” singer, it’s one that may not have happened.
“Love is a lifetime of coming back to the table. We almost didn’t make it to this one, well a couple of them, if I’m being honest,” she captioned a series of photos she shared on Instagram.
For his part, Hart reflected on the couple’s 22 years together and 18 years of marriage.
“In the last 18 years of marriage to this amazing human, we have done so much together. Raise two amazing children, travel the world, go on adventures, love, argue, make up, support each other, laugh, cry, laugh more, breakup, get back together, party, mourn, grow, and a million other things,” he wrote on Instagram.
“There is no one else on this planet I’d rather do it with than you. 22 years in each other [sic] lives and I’m looking forward to the next 22. As long as you don’t kill me first 🤣🤣🤣🤣,” he joked.
Meanwhile Pink took a more emotional approach, remembering when the two met more than two decades ago.
“When I met you, 22 years ago, I just wanted someone that wouldn’t lie to me. I didn’t have a clue about commitment, building a life together, intimacy, trust,” she wrote. “It’s f**king hard.”
Despite the troubles the two encountered during their relationship, their love for each other came out on top.
They briefly broke up in 2003 before getting back together a year later, and in 2008 they announced they had separated but several months they called off their divorce.
“I’m proud we made it to the other side of this year. I wear our scars proudly. You are my stubborn, beautiful, immovable rock.”
In 2021, Pink explained to People how in the beginning of the couple’s relationship she used to be “super needy,” but that changed as the two grew up together and became their own individual persons.
“When you first get together, you look at that person as your entire world. One person can’t be your entire world. You have to have your own passions, your own friends, your own time to yourself,” Pink said at the time. “I used to be super needy. Now we expect less of each other, and that allows us to give each other more somehow.”
Congratulations to Pink and Carey Hart!
