Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner was spotted helping a man in a wheelchair and sourced a pair of shoes for him after she noticed that he was barefoot.
Although some praised the star for her kind act, others slammed her, and one person called her a “shameless homewrecker.”
A few days ago, famous Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner, 51, was spotted doing a kind deed in Santa Monica. The “13 Going on 30” star was seen lending a helping hand to a homeless man in a wheelchair.
Pictures and videos showed Garner leaning out her car window with a clear bag of essential items to give to the man. As the beaming actress and the homeless man started to chat, Garner exited her car, and upon noticing that the man was barefoot, she quickly gave him a pair of socks and put them on his feet herself.

Garner also took off her shoes to give to the man, but after noticing they would not fit him, she jogged up to the paparazzo filming her and asked to buy his shoes from him so she could give them to the homeless man. The photographer gave Garner his shoes free of charge and added a shirt, pants, and a blanket.
When people saw the video of Garner’s benevolent deed, some people criticized her and claimed that the whole act was fake. Social media users said that Garner was only doing it for publicity that would paint her in a good light:
“…Garner must be sending y’all some huge checks with Ben alimony…Another staged PR moment from the shameless homewrecker Garner!”
Similarly, others agreed that the news outlet that published the story and the photographer who took the video, a man named Eric, were getting compensation for helping Garner orchestrate everything. This belief also stems from the fact that Eric ends the video stating the obvious by mentioning that Garner was helping the homeless. One person commented:
“The end of this video has me laughing so hard right now. Poor Eric.”
Despite the backlash Garner received for her kind act, many others praised her. One social media user complimented the star for what she did:
“That’s incredibly kind of Jennifer Garner! Helping those in need is a beautiful act of compassion.”
Being kind, good, and charitable is something Garner knows all too well. Her recent outing where she was seen helping the homeless man is not the first time she has assisted someonein need.
In a 2022 interview, while speaking about her other initiatives to help American youth, she recalled a day when she helped a stranger who was struggling to cross the street. Though she didn’t think it was a big deal, her kids thought otherwise:
“…my kids have spoken more about that moment than anything else.”
For the doting mom of three, kindness is one of the most important values to instill in one’s children. According to Garner:
“I think the most powerful thing to do is to live it…let your kids see it matter to you. That’s the way you teach them.”
Coupled with her work with Save the Children, an international humanitarian aid organization, for her 50th birthday, Garner also hosted a huge food donation drive.
Despite what naysayers have to say, Garner’s proven track record of kind acts shows that being charitable is within her nature.
