Blake Shelton is perhaps one of the biggest names in country music. The singer married fellow singer Gwen Stefani in 2021. Now, the country singer has revealed a resolution he has for the New Year that has people very surprised.

Blake Shelton is all set to perform on ‘New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash,’ and before the event, he has been opening up to the media about some very personal things he wants to work on in the coming year.
The country crooner revealed that he has been trying to cut back on alcohol for a while, but it has not been taken as of yet. He said he has been trying to cut it out completely or at least cutback, but it has been a challenge so far.
But the 47-year-old singer said in an interview with Rachel Smith that this was his year for being able to achieve his goal. It can understandably be a tough decision for anyone to make, especially someone working in the entertainment industry who attends a lot of events where alcohol is flowing and it is the norm to indulge.
But Shelton wants to make sure he sticks to his New Year’s resolution but is a little afraid of letting other people know. He said, “I haven’t managed to stop drinking yet. That’s been, you know, even cutting back has been hard,” Shelton admits. “I mean, it’s a resolution though. And I’ll say it again right now — that’s my New Year’s resolution, is to either cut back or stop drinking altogether. Let’s just say I said it.”
Shelton is only one of the singers slated to perform at the New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash. The show will be hosted by Rachel Smith and Elle King. Other stars set to perform include Shelton, Lainey Wilson, Carly Pearce, Kane Brown, Morgan Wallen, and Trace Adkins.
“You know, when this came up in conversation, I told my manager I go, ‘Man, I will do it if we can get Trace to come down… there’s nobody more fun for me to be around than Trace Adkins,” Shelton unabashedly shared.
This includes Shelton’s wife, Gwen Stefani in the list as well!
“No, way more fun,” the singer hilariously quips.
The singer also recalled another great New Years Eve of yesteryear when fellow co-host of the reality show The Voice came to visit him. He shared, “I’m trying to remember the year but Adam Levine actually came and stayed with me in Oklahoma, the one and only time he ever came and stayed with me at my house in Oklahoma.” He went on, “It was New Year’s Eve, like maybe the second or third season of The Voice. He came and stayed. The things that we did to him. Have you ever seen the movie Deliverance? You should watch it. Well, he hasn’t been back.”
That is quite a hilarious image! The two former judges of the hit reality show remain good friends even today.
