Jamie Lynn Spears quits hit show after suffering “medical issues”

Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister of pop icon Britney Spears, has been forced to leave hit British reality show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! on medical grounds, according to reports.

A spokesperson for the 32-year-old confirmed that Spears had left the show but did not give any specific details as to why.

It was later clarified by British network ITV that the actress’s departure from the jungle was on the basis of medical grounds.

“Jamie Lynn Spears has left I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on medical grounds,” a rep for the show revealed.

“She’s been a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities.”

As per reports, Spears threatened to walk away from the show only last week, growing emotional and stating that she was missing her children.

She also opened up on her relationship with her big sister Britney. The pair have engaged in a number of public spats in the past.

“She’s a good big sister, she is,” Jamie Lynn said. “Yeah, I love her… Me and her throw down. The world’s seen that.

“I’ve learned to stop talking about it publicly, but you know what, families fight. Listen, we just do it better than most.”

Jamie Lynn also claimed that a “very complicated upbringing” was to blame for the two sisters arguing so much.

At the beginning of an episode earlier this week, presenter Declan Donnelly said that Jamie Lynn was “doing fine and she goes away with our best wishes”.
