Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are one of Hollywood’s favorite couples, and together, they have built successful multi-million dollar careers.
Despite the money they have, Kunis still bought their wedding bands from Esty, and they only cost $210 altogether.
They stayed strong through Kutcher’s life-threatening health scare.
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are one of Hollywood’s most loved couples. The two had known each other for over a decade before being romantically involved.
Kutcher and Ashton first met while filming the hit series “That 70’s Show” in 1998, which lasted till 2006. In 2005, Kutcher married Demi Moore, but they called it quits after six years and finalized their divorce in 2012.
By 2012, dating rumors of Kutcher and Kunis started to surface after the couple was seen kissing at a party, but a source clarified that they were not exclusive.
The “Bad Moms” star also revealed that she and Kutcher started casually dating, but just like in their movies, “Friends with Benefits” and “No Strings Attached,” one of them caught feelings.
The actress said that she got jealous when Kutcher told her he was dating someone, but the feeling was mutual for the “The Ranch” star because he asked her to move in with him right after she confessed her feelings.
The couple went public about their relationship in 2012, and Kutcher confessed that the first time he told Kunis he loved her, he was listening to “You and Tequila” by Kenny and Grace Potter.
Just like the song, Kutcher had been drinking tequila and decided to go to Kunis’ house at 2 am to confess his love for her.
When the “Friends with Benefits” star realized how intoxicated he was, she said, “Don’t say it if you don’t mean it,” and proceeded to ask him if he would still feel the same way the next day.
But Kucher knew what he was doing; the next morning, he woke up and said, “I still love you.”
The couple got engaged in 2014, and a month later, they announced they were expecting their first child. In 2015, they secretly wed, but the couple had tied the knot way before their undercover nuptials. Then in 2016, they welcomed their second child.
Kunis and Kutcher started their acting careers at an early age, so by the time they were dating, they had already built substantial individual wealth.
Kunis became a recognized star after starring in “That 70’s Show”, which ran for eight years, and one of her co-stars reportedly got about $6 to $8 million per season.
Furthermore, Kunis has been the voice behind Meg on “Family Guy,” which aired in 1999, and reports speculated that the show’s voice actors earn about $175,000-$225,000 per episode, which could amount to roughly $2 million a year. The actress has also been part of many successful movies and shares assets with her husband, including their three houses.
The couple owns a $2.9 million house in Laurel Canyon and a $540,000 condo in West Hollywood. They sold their $10.2 million home in Beverly Hills for slightly more than the purchase price. Kutcher and Kunis also have a $10 million home near Santa Barbara.
The actress reportedly has a net worth of $75 million. Her husband has also acted in several successful movies and TV shows like “Two and a Half Men,” “The Ranch,” and more.
Kutcher was even declared one of the highest-paid actors on television in 2012, but he did not gain his fortune from just acting; he also made multiple investments that made him more money.
The actor co-founded his firm A-Grade Investments. He and his partner turned their $30 million fund into a return of $250 million by investing in companies like Uber, Skype, and Airbnb.
Kutcher co-founded another investment company, Sound Ventures, and owns a production company, Katalyst Productions, which he started with his partner Jason Goldberg in 2000.
Despite the couple’s money, Kunis revealed that their wedding bands were bought from Esty. She wanted the thinnest platinum band but found the prices from places like Tiffany & Co. to be “astronomical.”
She found the rings on Esty for a fraction of the price; her ring cost $90 and Kutcher’s was slightly more expensive at $100. The actress does have a big and expensive engagement ring, but she hardly ever wears it. Kunis just wanted her everyday band to be simple and barely visible.
They Stayed Together despite a Life-Threatening Disease
In 2019, Kutcher revealed that he had a life-threatening health scare where he could not walk, hear, or see. It turned out Kutcher had a severe case of vasculitis, “a serious and rare autoimmune disease that attacks and inflames the blood vessels.”
This was a scary time for Kunis and their children, but Kutcher worked hard to get himself back to normal again. He confessed that being close to death helped him appreciate the important things in life like being with his kids.
He will also not be holding back from living his life; Kutcher has made smart financial decisions, and that is because he plans to live and not work forever.
In this time of uncertainty, his wife was constantly by his side. During their interview on “The Check Up,” Dr. David Agus said it was beautiful how Kunis “just curled up” next to him and never left his side. “She’s the best,” responded the actor.
Inside Their Life on a Farm
Kunis and Kutcher had the bright idea to build a sustainable modern farmhouse on the outskirts of Los Angeles. The couple’s home is rich in fruit and vegetables like tomatoes, carrots, squash, and lettuce. They also have an abundance of dill and lemongrass, not to forget their ripe pomegranate tree.
When Kutcher suggested living and working on a farm, Kunis was skeptical, but when COVID-19 hit, they realized how privileged they were to have a self-sustaining house.
Beyond their poolside, you will find a bunch of apple trees and a barbecue area with a pizza oven that Kutcher gifted his wife for their anniversary.
The house is fully solar-powered and has a lot of water to keep its crops alive. Outside are large timber beams reclaimed from an old Wonder Bread factory.
The Kutcher family all work together to keep their fruit and vegetables growing. Kunis said her parents often make fun of her and tell her that growing a tomato on their farm probably costs more than buying it from the store.
But the mother of two does not care because she loves teaching her children the importance of growing food and what it takes to grow something as simple as a tomato.
