New Girlfriend of My Baby’s Dad Insists on a DNA Test for My Child

A mother shared the story of how she dealt with a situation when her ex-partner’s new wife surprisingly insisted on a DNA test for her daughter.

In a story that feels plucked straight from the script of a daytime drama, a woman found herself at the center of a conflict between her child’s father and his new partner. The woman, with the username @jsacs89 on TikTok, gave a rundown of the story on the platform.

The TikToker explained that she became pregnant at a young age and got engaged, but the relationship with her daughter’s father ended due to his infidelity with a woman, whom she named Mandy. After the breakup, the father became official with Mandy. Despite this, the TikToker had no issues with their union since she had moved on with her current husband.

She and her ex were working towards a healthy co-parenting dynamic, and Mandy appeared to have a good relationship with their daughter. However, things took a turn when Mandy and her ex had a child together. The arrival of their daughter began on a good note, but the TikTok mother encountered a few problems. She noticed that her daughter was consistently excluded from family pictures.

These actions made the mother uncomfortable, and she no longer wanted her daughter to be around Mandy. Before she could address this issue, the father received a package addressed to him containing a DNA test.

Mandy suggested devising a plan for the daughter to come over so they could perform a DNA test on her. The father was shocked because he had never doubted the child’s paternity. She resembled him, and he knew this would cause conflict with his daughter’s mother.

Therefore, the wife’s insistence on a DNA test was not just a simple request. It risked his relationship with his daughter’s mother and possibly his child as well. Consequently, the ex explained that he did not feel comfortable with it.

Mandy became extremely angry at her husband. So, she went behind his back and contacted his family, attempting to convince them to agree to the DNA test.

However, she was met with rejection there as well. The family found no reason for the daughter to be tested, and eventually, they questioned Mandy about the fuss. She explained that the TikToker’s daughter was very “tan” and looked “Mexican.”

The mother found this amusing because her daughter’s father is half black, and the reference to her looking Mexican was not far off since the TikToker is Hispanic. Ultimately, the TikToker and her ex did not permit the DNA test, leading to Mandy’s estrangement and eventual divorce from her husband. As a result, the TikToker’s daughter lost her connection with her half-sibling because Mandy believed there was no proof that they were related.

The post resonated with many, sparking a flurry of comments from others sharing similar experiences. One commenter exclaimed, “Are we living the same life?! CAUSE GIRL!!!” Another shared a story where an ex’s new partner’s attempt to discredit her child’s paternity backfired. “Yo, my BD’s other baby’s mom was saying my kid wasn’t his. He tested both kids my is his hers not so much,” wrote the TikTok user.

One mother said her ex and his partner conducted the DNA test behind her back. But Mandy’s insistence on getting the child tested raised suspicions among commenters. “Maybeeeeee Mandy kid it’s not his daughter,” pointed out a commenter.

More TikTok users started to believe Mandy was projecting her own fears, but people appreciated that the father did not allow her to get his daughter tested. Many also admired that the family did not fall for her tricks. “It’s the fact that your daughter’s dad didn’t agree!!! Props to that!” another commenter expressed.

The online community believed the TikToker and her ex demonstrated the importance of parents maintaining a balance between their children’s needs and those of new partners because it can be easy to overstep and forget that the well-being of the child must always take precedence.
