Reese Witherspoon has lived in the Hollywood limelight for many years. Now that she is 46 years old, people call her “old” and “ugly,” but the actress does not care because she has a reason to be proud of her gray hair and fine lines.
Reese Witherspoon is an actress with many accolades under her belt. She is famously known for her role in “Legally Blonde” and “Big Little Lies.”
Witherspoon uses her social media to connect with people through her book clubs, her love for cooking, and general lifestyle content.
The actress has also moved behind the camera and founded her production company, Hello Sunshine, which produced the recent Netflix hit series, “From Scratch.”
Witherspoon came to the acting scene as a young blonde bombshell, but now at 46, her perspective on beauty has changed. The actress is much more conscious of her beauty regime and taking care of her skin. She and her daughter have also connected on their love for beauty, and Witherspoon learned a lot from her.
Her daughter has taught her different beauty secrets on applying products, but one thing the mother and daughter never forget to apply is sunscreen. She said the care you put into your skin in your twenties would pay off when you age.
However, the fact that she is aging does not scare her; Witherspoon said she was lucky enough to grow up around women who embraced getting older, so she has grown to have a positive relationship with her changing body.
The actress continues to work hard and defy the odds; Witherspoon revealed that when she started her production company, she was told she wouldn’t be successful past 40.
But she’s 46 and busier than ever. Her goal is for her company to create films representing women, and Witherspoon is living her dream.
Despite her busy schedule, she does not miss out on making her family feel special. Witherspoon filmed herself baking several batches of cookies for her family for the holidays.
Fans also got a sneak peek of the actress’s beautiful kitchen, with marble countertops and white cabinets. As Witherspoon was filming her baking process, fans noticed a bronze tea kettle on the stove and immediately wanted to know where it was from.
Once she noticed the flood of questions about the kettle, Witherspoon did not gatekeep it; she promptly responded with where her followers could find it.
On a sadder note, Witherspoon has received many hate comments about her aging. People online have called her ugly and old, but the actress is not bothered and chooses to embrace her gray hair and fine lines.
Witherspoon Is Proud of Her Gray Hair
Witherspoon has lived a long life in glamorous Hollywood and learned from some of her beauty flops and wins. In an interview with Allure, the actress shared some beauty hacks she has learned along the way and some that she will never do again.
The actress loves good eyelashes, and her makeup artist showed her a trick on how to make them look natural. Witherspoon is used to the full lash strip, but she learned that it looks much more natural when she cuts a bit off.
Something Witherspoon will never go back to are the thin eyebrows she had in the past, which she now finds to be awful. The actress is just grateful she was able to grow them back.
Another thing you will never catch the actress with again is brown lipstick. Witherspoon said it looked horrible on her even though she lived with it being on her driver’s license photo when she was 16. But she will never stop wearing bright red lipstick. She loves that it is versatile enough to be worn in winter, spring, and summer.
One thing Witherspoon is known for is her perfectly balanced blonde hair color. Her hairstylist of over 15 years is behind the magic. The actress said she gets her hair touched up every six to eight weeks and has started to grow grays in the front, but she and her hairstylist call them ”hyper-blondes.”
An unusual hair tip the actress learned from her friend is to take prenatal vitamins even when she’s not pregnant. She said they keep her hair looking luscious and healthy.
As someone who spends a lot of time in front of the camera and is always dolled up in makeup, Witherspoon never makes the mistake of sleeping with her makeup on; she makes sure to wash her face at least twice a day.
All the years she has spent in the limelight, and all the experiences she has endured are why she embraces aging. The actress explained:
“I have a point of view because I’ve been on this planet for 43 years, and I didn’t feel that same way when I was 25. I didn’t have the same things to say. I’m 43 and I’ve had a whole bunch of experiences, and I can speak with thoughtfulness about the changes I’d like to see in the world…”
In fact, she believes she earned her fine lines and gray hairs because of everything she survived in her life. “I just feel like I earned that gray hair and my fine lines. I like ’em. I so prefer 43 to 25,” she said,
Her Husband Is Her Biggest Fan
Witherspoon has been married to her husband, Jim Toth, for eleven years, and they have only gotten stronger together. Five years into their marriage, Witherspoon was honored with an American Cinematheque Award in 2015 for her impressive career in Hollywood. In her acceptance speech, she highlighted her husband for being her biggest supporter and constantly pushing her to do better.
Witherspoon said Toth was why she started a new company and the strength behind raising her three amazing children. This was when the actress started getting teary.
Witherspoon met her husband when she was 34 after divorcing her first husband, Ryan Phillippe. By the time she got with Toth, the actress said she gained more self-respect and knew what she needed in a partner.
Since Witherspoon and Toth are so content with each other, all they ever want is to see the other happy, said the actress. They allow each other to grow.
Witherspoon said her husband always encourages her to leave her comfort zone because he will catch her if anything happens. Therefore, their safety in one another only makes them love each other more.
